Metal Machine Decon

As its name suggests, the Metal Machine is built to beat down the spot.

Product Overview +

As its name suggests, the Metal Machine is built to beat down the spot. Twin, pure camber, and bad attitude – this new model refocuses on the core basics of park and street snowboarding with a low-tech approach to clean lines and simple geometry. Call it a normal-ass snowboard, call it a popsicle stick … but don't call it on a pow day cause it's still lapping the park.  Now available in a Deconstructed version at a value price offering.

Part of Erik Leon's Community Outreach Riding Equipment value system, or C.O.R.E, this model is one part park and street performance and one part accessibility through community and features sustainable materials and build process.

Features +

Highland Core

The Highland Core is one of our most versatile snowboard cores at Arbor. It's constructed with a blend of poplar and paulownia wood in a 1:2 ratio, which makes it super lightweight while still delivering great durability and lively performance. Boards with the Highland Core, like the Metal Machine Decon Snowboard, are designed to give you reliable pop, long-lasting strength, and a responsive ride—perfect for park, street, and resort riding. Plus, we use sustainably sourced wood as part of our commitment to mindful craftsmanship and the Returning Roots program.

Bio Resin

Bio-Resin is our more sustainable alternative to traditional petroleum-based resins used in snowboard construction. It's made from ingredients that are co-products or waste products of other industrial processes, and it's manufactured using green chemistry techniques. This reduces the carbon footprint of the resin by up to 40% compared to petroleum-based options. Importantly, Bio-Resin doesn't compromise performance or durability—it keeps your board strong and responsive while supporting Arbor's commitment to sustainability.

Mixed Glassing

Mixed Glassing is a layup technique we use in some Arbor snowboards, including the Metal Machine Decon. It combines triaxial (three directions) and biaxial (two directions) fiberglass layers. This blend gives the board a versatile flex profile—providing both stability and pop for jumps, while still allowing for smooth presses and butters. Mixed Glassing is ideal if you want a board that can handle a variety of riding styles, from park laps to all-mountain cruising.

You'll find the Highland III Core in top-tier boards like the El Camino, where it helps balance freestyle playfulness with backcountry power. If you're looking for a core that's light, strong, and built for serious riding, Highland III is the way to go.

360 Fully Wrapped Sidewalls

360º Fully Wrapped Sidewalls mean the sidewall material completely encircles the snowboard, connecting tip to tail without any gaps. This construction method increases the board's durability, helps prevent delamination, and ties the whole board together for a longer lifespan. It's a key feature on the Metal Machine Decon and many other Arbor boards, ensuring you get consistent performance and extra protection season after season.

Extruded Base

An extruded base is a type of snowboard base material that's made by pressing polyethylene pellets through a machine to form a solid sheet. On the Metal Machine Decon, the extruded base is durable, easy to repair, and requires less maintenance than a sintered base. While it's not as fast as sintered bases, it's perfect for park and street riding where durability and ease of upkeep matter most. It's a great choice if you want a board that's tough and low-maintenance.

Sidecut

The Metal Machine Decon Snowboard features a true twin shape with simple, clean geometry, but it does not have a pronounced sidecut or any special sidecut technology called out. Its design is focused on classic park and street performance, with a straightforward approach for reliable edge hold and predictable turns.

Pure Camber

The Metal Machine Decon Snowboard features a pure camber profile. That means the board has a traditional arch shape when laid flat, with contact points at the tip and tail. Camber provides strong edge hold, pop, and stability—especially great for park and street riding, which is exactly what the Metal Machine Decon is built for.
